čúrať sa poużíva aj na západnom slovensku teda v petržalke aj v starej petržalke určite, a pravdepodobne celoslovensky napr. "musím îsť čúrať","idem sa vyčùrať", počúral som sa atď.

How to say you want to pee or to poop in Slovak
Hi guys! First blog post is born! (svk: Prvý blog je na svete!) In this article you will find how to express your "need" formally, informally and I’m afraid vulgarly as well. :D So, let’s get started!
Firstly, as you surely know, it‘s generally unacceptable to speak of one's bodily needs in polite conversation. In formal situations, you shouldn‘t even mention it specifically at all.
Of course, there are some situations where you must talk about it. If you go to the doctor for example. You want to say him, that your stool is hard or you have constipation. In Slovak we would say: Mám tvrdú stolicu. (stool = stolica) and I have constipation=Mám zápchu. If you have a watery stool you can say: Mám riedku stolicu or I have diarrhea=Mám hnačku. Now look at some words that you may also need: blood=krv, urine=moč, urinate/pee=močiť, defecate=mať stolicu.
For example: I went to the doctor because I've been peeing blood=Išiel som k doktorovi, pretože som mal v moči krv./ Išiel som k doktorovi, pretože som močil krv.
If you want to say that you need to go to the toilet/restroom you can say: Potrebujem ísť na toaletu or Idem na toaletu=I’m going to the toilet. Usually we don’t say if we’re going to pee or poop. :) Personally, what I use and what I can hear the most is a colloquialism* vécko – Potrebujem ísť na vécko /Potrebujem na vécko. (I need to go to the toilet) I used to ask this way also at school. :D Vécko was created from an abbreviation WC. We also say: Idem na vé cé (WC) or Idem na záchod. (I’m going to the toilet) And there are 2 more ways how to say it: Idem na malú/veľkú potrebu.=I’m going to pee/poop. It’s also used often.
...yeah! And I forgot the word havaj! Ísť na havaj (To go to Hawaii) is a slang and funny way for expressing your need. I've also heard príroda volá (nature calls)
* Colloquialism is a word or phrase that is used in conversational or informal language, not in formal speech or formal writing.
Of course, among close friends or family members we also use verbs like to pee or to poop. But it’s difficult to say what Slovak verbs are the most common. :D (You know I don’t hear it very often) Many of them are used when talking with babies. We can say that cikať and kakať are the most similar to the English ones, to pee and to poop. When talking about past events: I peed myself=Pocikal som sa, I pooped myself=Pokakal som sa. I usually say "čúrať" but it’s probably used only in eastern part of Slovakia and it’s a dialect. In past tense: Počúral som sa. Okay, and where do little children pee and poop? A potty is called nočník in Slovakia. And what is in the potty? :D In Slovak we say a poo=kakanica/kakanec and I'm not quite sure how a pee is called = maybe cikanica?
...
There are also many words which are considered to be vulgar and rude. I will start with a noun „hovno“ which means a shit (plural: hovná).
Very rude way how to say that you need to go to the toilet is: Idem šťať/ Idem sa vyšťať, Idem šikať/ sa vyšikať (All of them mean I’m going to piss). And Idem srať/ Idem sa vysrať. (I’m going to shit.) In present tense it’s: Šikám/Štím (I’m pissing) and Serem (I’m shitting). When you peed yourself we say in a inpolite way: Poščal som sa/Zošťal som sa/Zošikal som sa. I shitted myself= Posral som sa, Zosral som sa. Also hnačka (diarrhea) is called sračka. Don’t mix these two at the doctor’s! :D
N.B. A stool/faces are used when speaking about human. But In Slovakia we call a poo of dogs=exkrement, a poo of birds=trus, a poo of cattle=lajno, poos of rabbits=bobky :D
N.B.2 Robím si srandu/Srandujem =I’m kidding. Did you know that the word sranda used to be also vulgar? Now it’s used very often and it’s not considered to be rude :D Have a nice day!
And of course don’t hold in pee!=Neudržujte moč! (=plural)
Still something missing? Look at the pictures! :D Any questions? Leave a comment below!
záchod (pl:záchody) latrína (pl:latríny) pisoár (pl:pisoáre)
